I decided to play with some dynamics in Cinema 4D and it quickly escalated to this. Started the track from the bottom up as it was easier to scale and add new bits this way. The sleeve soft body took the longest to calculate. I have spent more time calculating dynamics than texturing and modeling the scene. I learned that it's a good idea in this case to shape the track to the sphere's movement than the other way around. Everything was exported using .exr files (30mb each) and composited and graded in After Effects.
